This product is a great way to seal a floor and ensure no moisture ruins your new flooring install. On concrete it is 2 coats & on wood substrates it is 1 coat system. You will find that the loba pu-280 is the most afordable 1-part sealer on the market. You are also able to use glue on top of this product form Loba.
One-component waterproof primer for priming porous and non-porous subfloors and for rigidifying soft subfloor surfaces. WAKOL PU 280 Moisture Barrier is a premium moisture barrier for “green” concrete slabs and for concrete and offers two levels of moisture protection. One coat will block moisture up to 12 lbs. / 1000 sq.ft. / 24 hours or up to 90 % rH (ASTM F 2170-02). Two coats will block moisture up to 18 lbs. / 1000 sq.ft. / 24 hours or up to 98 % rH (ASTM F 2170-02). No moisture test required if the following conditions are met: The concrete must be surface dry, at least 28 days old, a surface temperature of ≥60°F, and must have an intact structural waterproofing membrane beneath the slab. WAKOL PU 280 Moisture Barrier may be used on radiant heated floors up to 6 lbs. / 1000 sq.ft. / 24 hours or up to 85 % rH (ASTM F 2170-02) prior to laying wood flooring.
Wakol PU 280 FAQ’s
You need moisture transfer on wood substrate so it does not mold. Therefore, you are only able to only do 1 coat or it would build too much moisture.
Wakol PU 280 is approved to work with c oncrete and wood substrate (like plyuwood or osb)
You should be using use Loba microfiber roller # 60–80 or # 120. Make sure everything is blue, if not blue moisture will come through.
Yes, you can put it on a damp subfloor as long as it does not have standing water. Highly suggest to figure out if the water issue is fixed or not. PU 280 blocks moisture but it doesn’t block standing water.
