Pre-Installation Guidelines for Cordalera Enduro & Enduro Advantage Floors

We want you to absolutely love your new Cordalera floor, and the best way to ensure that is by starting with the right installation process. While Rustic Wood Floor Supply doesn't offer installation services, we care about making sure you have the information you (or your installer) need for a flawless result. Below are the key points to review before installation. Share these with your professional installer, or keep them handy if you're tackling the project yourself.

Gather the Right Tools
1. Gather the Right Tools

For a smooth installation, you'll need:

  • Tape Measure, Utility Knife, Jigsaw, Tapping Block or Rubber Mallet, Pull Bar, ¼"
  • Spacers, T-Square, Safety Glasses, Broom or Vacuum, and if necessary, subfloor repair tools.

Protect Your Floors for the Long Run
2. Protect Your Floors for the Long Run

  • Use felt pads under frequently moved furniture to avoid scratches.
  • Heavy furniture and appliances need large, non-staining surface protectors.
  • Furniture casters should be easy-swiveling and suitable for resilient floors, not ball-type casters.

Installation Conditions
3. Installation Conditions

  • Can be installed on, above, or below grade.
  • Suitable for spaces with seasonal temperature changes (e.g., three-season rooms), but floors must acclimate in a controlled environment (55°F–85°F) 72 hours before, during, and after installation.
  • Avoid installing in excessive moisture. If installing over concrete, use a 6 mil polyfilm moisture barrier.

Environmental Care
4. Environmental Care

  • Protect from prolonged direct sunlight to avoid fading or expansion. Blinds, drapes, or UV-protective window film are recommended.
  • Install only after all other construction work is finished.

Subfloor Preparation
5. Subfloor Preparation

  • Subfloors must be clean, flat, dry, and structurally sound (3/16" in 10' or â…›" in 6').
  • Not allowed over carpet.
  • Can be installed over most existing hard surfaces that are solid and stable.
  • Avoid heavily cushioned sheet vinyl.
  • Never use solvents or citrus adhesive removers, as residue may affect new flooring.

Radiant Heat
6. Radiant Heat

  • Radiant systems require a minimum of ½" separation from the flooring.
  • Never exceed 85°F (30°C).
  • Use an in-floor temperature sensor to prevent overheating.

Installation Method
7. Installation Method

  • Cordalera floors are designed for floating installation only.
  • Do not install cabinets or fixed objects on top of the floor.
  • Allow for proper expansion space.
  • Undercut all door jambs.
  • Do not fasten wall moldings or transition strips to the floor itself.

We'll make sure you have the right products, the right advice, and the confidence to get your project done right.

Keep Your Cordalera Enduro Max Looking Brand New

Taking care of your SPC flooring doesn't have to be complicated. A few simple habits can make your floor last longer and keep it looking just as stunning as the day it was installed.

  • Sweep or Swiffer daily: Remove dust and dirt to keep the surface fresh.
  • Wet tack weekly: Use Arboritec Cleaner for the best results.
  • Clean spills quickly: Even though it's waterproof, fast cleanup helps prevent accidents.
  • Remove shoes indoors: Socks create less abrasion and keep floors looking newer.
  • Protect when moving appliances: Slide them over a ¼" masonite board to avoid scratches.
  • Add floor booties: Place them under chairs and furniture to prevent marks and dents.

Skip steam cleaning: Steam can get into SPC flooring and cause damage.

No, overtime it will do damage to the finsh and make it duller.

Depends on how dirty the floor is and how fast you are moving. In a house 1 should do 500-1000 sq. In a gym you will either get 1500-2000ft or as little as 500 if the floor is dirty or has lots of sticky gum type substances.
