These 3M 7″ quick change edger discs are specifically designed for use with 7″ edgers and feature a quick change system that allows for easy installation and removal. Instead of using a traditional bolt-on system, these discs are backed with a cloth and can be attached to an edger conversion pad using a hook and loop (velcro) system. The 3M thick backing on these pads is able to hold the disc securely in place and typically lasts for 1-2 jobs before needing to be replaced due to wear from the heat generated during sanding.

Yes, 3M produces a quality product that really stands up to the abuse. The biggest mistake some flooring contractors make is overusing the disc and heating it up, thus, sticking to the machine or velcro.
Yes, the backing is thick and appropriate for each application. The Regalite mix of grain is good for all phases of sanding. Please note that Regalite is not the best mineral for final sanding as the mineral is different in size because it is a mixture of minerals.
